Vaping will never be a constant entity. It’s meant to evolve and shift as new innovations, ideas and information comes to the forefront. One part of the evolutionary process comes in the form of temperature control box mods. For as long as developers follow their vision to satisfy everyone who makes the switch to electronic cigarettes, temperature control will always be part of the picture. It serves a multitude of purposes and adds to the overall enjoyment of vaping. But what are these mods exactly and how do they make a difference?
The Basic Design of E-Cigarettes
It would be cynical to believe that vaping has been perfected. In fact, it will probably never reach perfection as people become more attuned to smaller details. Unfortunate flaws, such as the bad taste that accompanies a dry throat hit, or vapor that is simply too hot, are still present. The source for many of these flaws is referred to as the wick. It’s situated in the coil of the e-cigarette and when it runs dry it typically burns out. This leads to an unpleasant taste, uncomfortable vapor temperature and ultimately frustration, because it needs to be replaced. If the voltage remains at 4 or below then these “side-effects” aren’t really as prominent, but once the voltage reaches 4.8 the flaws stand out like a sore thumb. In order to keep the coil from over heating and constantly being paranoid about the wick running dry or burning, temperature control mods have been introduced.
Temperature Control Mods Explained
Ironically enough, mods can’t sense the temperature of the coil and they don’t have a thermostat that tells them the coil is overheating. Instead, they rely on a change in resistance, which then causes the mod to take action. It will either make adjustments to the flow of power to the coil, restrict it or completely cut it off. The aim is to prevent the wick from burning and causing a multitude of discomfort. It’s also important to note that several temperature mods will only work with certain coils, such as Nickel 200 and Titanium.
The Advantage of Using Temperature Mods
In essence, a temperature controlled box mod allows the user to have full control over the temperature of the vapor while it safeguards the wick. Depending on the mod you use, it can remember your settings after removing the atomizer temporarily, or it will be relatively easy to establish those settings again with the push of a single button. Even though vaping is a much better alternative to smoking, there is a degree of danger involved when the liquid overheats. This causes a breakdown in molecules, which can be hazardous.
When the initial designs for temperature control box mods first hit the scene they were relatively expensive. This automatically prevented people from using them. But as technology started catching up with vaping trends it dramatically influenced the price. Now it’s more affordable and readily available through several brands and retailers. In other words, if you always wanted to take vaping to another level but couldn’t afford it – now’s the time to capitalize.
